Pool Party

The one unscheduled hour of the whole wedding.

How this was made

A photographer hands over a folder of about five thousand photographs and a few hours of video. Everything after that is this site. This demo is built from a real one of those deliveries — a thousand of its photographs, with every face hidden and the couple replaced by placeholders.

Nothing arrives twice: Every frame is fingerprinted on the way in, so the duplicate passes and the near-identical burst shots collapse into one. What survives is resized once and served off a CDN.
The faces are found, not tagged: Face detection and clustering run across the whole delivery to work out who is in what. Nobody sat down and labelled five thousand photographs — the corrections afterwards are measured in minutes, not evenings.
Curated, not dumped: Each event's reel and album is chosen and ordered by hand in a private tool that never goes near the live site. Re-ordering an album is a drag and a click, not a re-upload.
Built to stay up, and stay cheap: Pages are rendered ahead of time from committed manifests, photographs come off object storage, and the whole thing runs inside free tiers — so it can simply stay online for as long as it is wanted.

Built for one wedding. None of it is specific to that wedding.

This is a demo site with sample data: the names and dates are placeholders, and every face in every photograph is hidden.
